Wild Wanderings Walks

Wild Wanderings is a series of nature journaling walks fostering a desire to connect with—and immerse in—our local environment.

Draw, walk, connect

Wild Wanderings is a series of nature journaling walks designed to help you connect with—and immerse in—our local environment, imbuing each participant with a sense of care and respect for the natural world.

Held in beautiful locations across the Dandenong Ranges, each walk is led by a local artist and an expert in native ecosystems, using art and knowledge as a catalyst to slow down and deeply engage with nature.

By mindfully documenting your personal observations of the natural world, and by taking part in activities that will engage the senses (walking, observing, drawing, listening…), experience the Dandenong Ranges like never before!

In 2025, the first season of Wild Wanderings was funded by a Yarra Ranges Council Arts & Heritage grant. Held at Birdsland Reserve, the four inaugural walks fully sold-out.

In 2026, the series returned as part of ngurrak barring's programming for the Burrinja Climate Biennale #4. Two of the three walks, taking place at the Karwarra Australian Native Botanic Garden, sold-out, with the the third one not far-off.
